Fertil Mulchâ Manufactured and sold to you direct is a mixture of local cow manure, chicken manure and sawdust. Dark coffee color and texture. Before it is brought to you our Fertil Mulchâ is composted and screened so no need to worry about rocks, weed seed or smell. Used as a top dressing it helps to suppress weeds and retain moisture. The worms love it, they go up into it pulling it down into your soil making your soil even better. You may also use it to amend your soil. A good 2" tilled in will make most soil perk back up. Seeding your lawn? After the seed is down you can put "Just a little" Fertil Mulchâ  on top of the seed to help retain moisture and to help keep birds from eating the grass seed.

Chicken-N-Chips® consists of chicken manure, horse manure, Hemlock and Douglas Fir wood shavings.When tilled in the ground for your garden, the longer fiber length of the wood shavings does not break down as fast as sawdust. This allows it to aerate your soil longer. When used as a top dressing it helps keep the weeds down and when it rains the non chemical fertilizer goes down into the ground to feed your plants. The Chicken-N-Chips® crust up a little so it stays better on a hill.

Beauty bark is generally used as a mulch to control evaporation of water and to help prevent the weeds you took so much time to pull out from returning so soon. It is also occasionally used in indoor arenas for horse footing. The size of our Medium Fine Bark is about 1 1/2" Minus, meaning that usually the biggest pieces are that size and smaller. It is unscreened so it can have larger pieces. If you are unsure we always suggest you come out and take a look since you will be looking at it everyday for awhile. One yard will cover 100sq Ft or 10' x 10' Ft area this will put it 3" deep.

Our Super Fine bark is run through our 1/2" screens so that you get a fine bark product that is uniform in texture.  It makes a great looking and effective mulch for your garden. Using a finer mulch makes it easier to remove leaves without raking up all your bark.

Play chips are non treated, environmentally safe and can be used in a wide variety of applications. The chips are bark free so you and your family are safe from irritating little slivers.

Play chips dissipate well to break a fall under your play set, whether at home, school or day care.

For your pet's play area, cedar keeps the fleas down which will make you and your pet happy.

Play chips can also be used in landscaping, in a walking path or if you like the chunky look and color, they can be used as a mulch.

Play chips can also be used in a French drain.

For horses, play chips can be put under hog fuel also to help drainage.

Our Hog Fuel is 100% non-recycled cedar.  It is clean and can be used in a variety of ways.  Hog fuel is used in horse riding arenas, paddocks, dog runs and paths and can also be used to build temporary roads.  The Hog Fuel that we carry is made when the material that is left over after they make cedar shakes and shingles is run through a machine called a "hog" and is ground up into a stringy, fibrous material.  It is called hog fuel because the material can be used to burn for fuel at pulp mills to generate electricity. 

NOT ALL HOG FUEL IS THE SAME.  Hog fuel is any type of wood product that can be burned for fuel but can't be classified as chips, shavings, bark, or sawdust.  Products from other companies may contain woods that break down faster, have woods that are toxic to animals, or be made from recycled pallet boards.  Make sure you know what you are getting.

Western Hog is cedar chips that are smaller than the play chips. Unlike regular Hog Fuel, the Western Hog is used more for indoor arenas because it is easier to drag. Stop by our Lake Stevens yard and take a look.  Available for delivery or pick up at our Lake Stevens yard only.

Our Sawdust is Hem Fir Doug Fir 1/8" kernels, all new from logs and kept inside so you have nice bedding anytime of the year. Sawdust is also 1/3 the cost of pellets, making your overall bedding bill at the end of the year alot less.

Our Shavings are Hem and Doug Fir Kiln dried or Green. The dry is a little smaller and dustier, making it easier to pick, so there's less waste. The Green Shavings are bigger and fluffier, giving your animals a nice cushy place to rest. Green is great for summer and at no extra charge we can mix a load the way you want it.
